Yes, some do believe this

Screenshot attached:

I believe that intersex/transgender people are the offspring of human females that have had sex with demons or Satan himself.

I do not think we should allow into the church as once you invite them in they can come in anytime and corrupt the House of the Lord.
The dangerous ones aren't the ones who say it openly though, just believe it - and act on it.

  1. How many told him/her that they were a loon?

  2. Hello Zoe

Hmm Well yes the "Religious" nutcase obviously believes in a deity that causes people to be born intersex, purely for the bigoted entertainment of said nutcase.

  3. As I see it, the real problem is not just the ones who don't say but believe and act, as Zoe said, but also the the many more folks who believe that such folks are an ineffective fringe that can safely be ignored -- the ones who, when I point out examples such as this one, and such as the explosion of anti-LGBT activity in African nations, such as the Beverly Hills Beauty Queen who advocates death to 'homosexuals' 'for the bible tells me so', tell me I'm paranoid and have nothing to worry about, they're just fringe kooks and can safely be ignored. That, to me, is the REAL danger.

  4. Yes, these people are dangerous as far as Im concerned. They spew their bigotry in the name of religion and become poltically involved in voting against anyone who doesn't believe as they do.
I feel that, unfortunately, we must take the time to answer each of these wackos with a rational response and not allow them to get away with making such ludicrous statements. I have made it my mission to confront these bigots head on with progressive theological arguments. Argue the Bible thumpers with the Bible. That really gets their goat.

  5. Why they say that even the devil quotes scripture, whenever they are loosing a theological argument.

  6. My response to when they claim "even the devil can quote scripture" is that they're just proving my point that they are actively working for the devil.

  7. An interest comment considering that Jesus Christ was reportedly a virgin birth. As a matter of biology we can deduce that his mother Mary was therefore almost certainly intersex. Likely Christ himself was intersex FTM, but we can't be sure as there isn't enough evidence. What evidence does exist fails to work against the conjecture. Unmarried, no children, etc..

  9. Hazumu, Australian Journalist David Marr made the excellent and accurate point on the Australian Version of Q&A recently by saying that while only 9% of Australians attend church, that the other 81% respect them for it. That's our real concern I believe, for as you say, many people pass these nutcases off as loonies, but also respect people who publicly declare their belief in a religion. Therefore when it comes time to vote, they tend to respect those who believe in fairy tales. Need I go any further?

Cynthia, The answer to your question I believe that as god moves in mysterious ways, why wouldn't the devil also? They invented him too!

  10. My Maths is pretty bad this morning isn't it? Let's make that other percentage 91%.

  11. Jeez, I wish that were true. That would be awesome! Do I get small bat wings and those cute little fangs? Hair the colour of dried blood? I'm totally there, think of the goth you could rock with that complexion!

I don't mind not coming in to their House o' the Lord, as long as they don't come out.

  12. Wow, that's sad, ignorant, mean-spirited and completely unBiblical. It's wrong in every way.

  14. If their bigotry wasn't so destructive, I'd find it amusing that such people actually believe a book they've read only in translation-- and that repeats stories that were told in other cultures that existed long before the book was written-- came directly from the mouth of God.

  15. "I have become convinced that fundie christians are the result of generations of incest and close inbreeding".

And this is a hellva of a lot more defensible than my mother had sex with a demon.
