He called upon you, anoldfriend, and you leigh, to be the girlie gay men that he says you are.

As another person put it at the NYT:
Men who think they are women and women who think they are men are deeply delusional gays and lesbians (who’s delusion has deep roots in our society’s homophobia) who need psychotherapy so they can be rehabilitated and lead healthy lives as gay men and lesbian women.

They weren't condemning the transgendered: they were condemning you. As gay men who are deluded.

For the hard-of-thinking, I disagree with this viewpoint.Zoe Brainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13712045376060102538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5573426.post-64225531578448736002009-12-21T06:37:06.013+11:002009-12-21T06:37:06.013+11:00Ron and Zoe;
I have to agree with what Leigh has s...Ron and Zoe;
I have to agree with what Leigh has said, I never relied on the homosexual communities for support they and their attitude can go jump in a lake. There are drag queens I know and they have nothing whatsoever in common with me. I even know a drag queen who decided to have sex reassignment surgery and he after 3 years of not "passing" he realized his 20,000 dollars spent on surgeries was wasted. He was also a TV sex worker and when his clients found he had "the surgury" they lost interest. So the people you know who you think of as TS are not anything like us.
To top it off, most of us are straight,

I wish the rest of homosexual communities would be just as honest as you, those of us on the outside who live in the mainstream with no trouble feel sorry for the Tee-Gees who are living in the gay ghetto under the delusion you guys support them. Most of us knew from day the only use the homosexuals had fo rthe Tee-Gees was numbers and support for YOUR political agenda. We know when ENDA comes up on 2011 you are going to throw them under the buss and drive over them with it.

They are too delusional to see the handwriting on the wall. Even their now gender queer leaders see what is coming and they are not warning the Tee-Gee rank and file.

In closing Ron I want to thank you for 2 things; first for being so truthful and expressing what the greater body of homosexuals think of the Tee-Gees.
second I want to thank you for the cheap entertainment throwing cold water on the Tee-Gees provided.

Please encourage more of your peers to speak their mind, maybe the Tee-Gees will wake up and stand on their own 2 feet.

They don't need the homosexuals, they just don't know it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5573426.post-65874471423956603602009-12-21T03:01:43.723+11:002009-12-21T03:01:43.723+11:00Actually Mr Gold ...
The one really telling thin...Actually Mr Gold ...

The one really telling thing about your article was not what was said against it but more of who said it.

There was a noticable absence by gays and lesbians, and by classic transsexuals, but oh lord, the Transgenders had your guts for garters.

Personally, other than your reference to Jan Morris which I merely considered as par for the course from a gay mans point of view, I thought your observations were very much in line with the thinking of most gay men and women. You said nothing in your post that I have not come to experience from gays over the past 30 years of being a post transitioned woman. Your views, in my opinion were right on track with those of most gay men and many lesbains.

No need to apologise for speaking the truth. Gays have been way less than supportive to most classic transsexuals. Your realm is the drag queens and the transvestites, the genderqueer and the others that make up the TG soup of your silly acronym. Good for you that you said what you said! I only hope it catches on and more of the real truth comes out. The sooner this whole shotgun marriage comes apart, the better off transsexuals will be. The rest of the so called transgenders can go back to being simply gay men and part time women.leighhttp://ariablue.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5573426.post-81043968426431453502009-12-19T23:08:09.807+11:002009-12-19T23:08:09.807+11:00"...committed canine intercourse..."
G..."...committed canine intercourse..."

Gawd, Zoe, I wish I had half the grasp of the English language that you have. That will definitely find it's way into my vocabulary!

Once again a most thoughtful and detailed response. And quite enlightening.

I thought I was fairly well read about the efforts of dealing with transsexuality through the second half of the last century (since I lived through it), but, again, you have much more thorough information. I'd really love to see what's on your bookshelves!

I really hope that this dialog continues because it really could (or should) be part of a Trans 101 class. Which is something I find myself having to teach more and more to many of my friends and family, both gay and straight.

Thanks again!

-SandySandra Louisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13375856471312787266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5573426.post-66092265708071561162009-12-19T20:57:30.668+11:002009-12-19T20:57:30.668+11:00Just something else that might be of interest.
