My weird metabolism again. What was a toothbud wisdom tooth only a year ago had a growth spurt and erupted, and went into full impaction on the next tooth. Pubertal change again. The comparative X-rays were truly anomalous.
Both teeth had to be extracted, one had grown into the other, penetrating the nerve root. So I'm 2 teeth and $450 the lighter.
Since my scholarship is still ensnarled in red tape, my income is zero, so having a monetary hit like this is not the best news. Never mind, I still have some financial cushion left. Our lifestyle is frugal.
At least I don't have osteoporosis. The jawbone was so dense, some had to come out with one of the teeth.

Australian commenters are very very strongly advised to publish anonymously. Sydney alone has more defamation actions than the entire USA and UK. Nearly double that of the UK in fact.

ReplyDeleteI think I remember you having had somewhat related tooth problems before. I suspect they were side effects of the central metabolic wierdnesses, whatever they are.

ReplyDeleteAnd yes, this appears to be the gift that keeps on giving. No sign of another set of teeth coming through on that side, but it looks like I'll have a replacement on the other.
Maybe some shark DNA in there, along with the Clownfish.... :)
You keep clutching on to every 'odd' thing to try and validate your intersex? why? I've had exactly the same problems with my teeth in my thirties and it's not really anything to do with my metabolism, or myself being intersexed.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to find a pattern. And trying not to see patterns that aren't there.
ReplyDeleteLess than 1 in 10,000 people have 5 roots or more on their back teeth, according to my dentist sister-in-law. It's usually a sign of a genetic abnormality, and associated with a number of unpleasant genetic diseases - which I don't have.
Of course it could be a coincidence.
And as I've said in another context, validation is something I only seek from parking machines, on my ticket.
Zoe has had several physiological oddities show up long before her sudden metabolic upset. Looking back most of them seem to be side effects of the abnormalities that caused the intersex condition. Also a few behavoural traits make more sense now. I don't have to strain to find patterns.
