World Net Daily

August 2nd
WND was able to obtain other birth certificates from Kenya for purposes of comparison, and the form of the documents appear to be identical.

August 6th (after the forgery became obvious to even the most credulous)
WND obtained several samples of Kenyan birth certificates in use around Aug. 4, 1961, the date of Obama's birth, showing differences from the Taitz document.

They Lie. A lot. All the time, in fact. They make the late, lamented National Inquirer look like a model of veracity.

Not all of what they say is false - but anything that supports a right wing political position is far less likely to be true than anything that undermines it.

In my innocence, I had thought that they were imperfect, letting their bias get the better of their judgement, but not in the same league as Green Left Weekly for example.

But I was wrong. They deliberately lie.

  2. There's a good reason that we call them "Wingnut Daily" - they aren't about to let facts get in the way of their spittle-flecked raving.

  3. Ah, but Zoe, you're not realizing this is a Greater Truth, just like Dan Rather's "fake but accurate" memo. You can't let details get in the way of the great truth.

  4. A really good survey of what the problem is, courtesy of Chris Kelly on the Huffington Post. :-)

  5. Yeah, there was a time when I used to pay attention to them, not anymore. Mad as bedbugs. And as bigoted.

  6. A Free Press
    For A Free People

They can be free to make up anything they like. That does not make it true.

Tell me about those trustworthy governments that stand behind their documents.

  7. Last gasps for those people. The culture wars are over, an artifact of the past. The winds of change are blowing as the saying goes, and American attitudes are shifting quickly with them. I see it all around me; nobody is interested in the old fights between two sides that don't even have an agenda besides their own power. It's like Obama said in his book (roughly); the two sides of this culture war are just carrying on squabbling that hatched in campus fraternities decades ago. That sort of bickering is a luxury for more decadent times.

It's exciting and scary at the same time. I'm glad that phase we were in is over, but the feeling of tension in the air is growing. Everybody here is waiting for the crises, we all seem to sense something big is coming down.

Don't worry about the bigots, their day in politics is over. The party of bigotry is on its way out, and if it survives it will be a very different GOP that rises from the ashes. The current leadership of the Republican party hasn't quite figured it out yet. But eventually the people who assume the leadership will kick out the bigots who hide behind religion. They have to purge themselves of the so-called religious right if they want to survive. But it's funny watching them flounder on tv thinking their problem is that they just aren't shaping their message right. Lol, clueless. We got their message, we just aren't interested anymore.

Anonymous commenters - please add a signature (doesn't have to be your real name) on each post of yours. Anne O'Namus, Norm D. Ploom, Angry from Kent, Demosthenes, or even your real initials, it doesn't matter.

Commenters are expected to be polite to each other, but the same standard doesn't apply to comments regarding me.

Australian commenters are very very strongly advised to publish anonymously. Sydney alone has more defamation actions than the entire USA and UK. Nearly double that of the UK in fact.

As Google does not reliably inform me that a comment has been posted, and I have no control over first publication, I assert that all comments are innocently disseminated under the NSW DEFAMATION ACT 2005 - SECT 32 and similar acts.
