A Hamas-run television station defied Israel and the Palestinian government on Friday by continuing to air a controversial children's puppet show with a Mickey Mouse lookalike preaching resistance.Fairly Harmless - a little antiSemitic propaganda, Judenhass straight from the schoolbooks of Nazi Germany, but not too bad, right?
Israel and Jewish groups have slammed the Al-Aqsa programme over calls made by the copycat mouse named Farfur and by a little girl for resistance against Israel and the United States, and for its overtly Islamist message.
Complete with Islamic songs and calls for cities in Israel to return to Palestine, Friday's episode apparently sought to prepare children for their end-of-year examinations -- with Farfur being told that cheating is forbidden.
Asked why by an Al-Aqsa television reporter, he looked left and right to see what his friends were writing and answered: "Because the Jews destroyed my home and I left my books and notes under the rubble."
"I'm calling on all children to read more and more to prepare for exams because the Jews don't want us to learn," Farfur then said after being told he had failed the test.
Now see the video. The AFP omitted the bits about the Arabs being the Ubermenschen who would reconquer the world (they used to own it, you see), and make sure every Jew on the planet was exterminated.
"We've said more than once that becoming masters of the world requires the following : First to be happy with our Arabic language, which once upon a time ruled this world"
Please, don't just read the AFP whitewash of this Nazism. Look at the original sources. Read the Hamas Charter. Look at what they're teaching their kids - to be human bombs so as to "commit martyrdom".
Just Look - at
This one is of Hamas (and thanks to an eagle-eyed but anonymous reader for spotting my error in the above)
And this one shows the origins of the whole thing.

not related to this story, but I noticed someone was given money for being bullied

The Supreme Court has found the state of New South Wales failed in its duty of care to Benjamin Cox, who was harassed and assaulted by an older student at Woodberry Public School in the Hunter Valley 13 years ago.
The 18-year-old has been awarded more than $213,000 and weekly earnings for life.
Imaging how much money you could get if your life was stuffed ?
Nice pictures. Problem being that Hamas aren't saying "Heil Hitler" and praising a government of a powerful industrial nation that held the power of life and death over millions of Jews. They are, in all probability, saying, 'Get Out of My Country'! , whether they are in Palestine or Lebanon.
As for Arab children being taught to hate, try this one on for size...http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/news/archives/2006/07/20/an_explosive_image_in_lebanon_conflict.html
Lisa Goldman (who has also contributed to the Guardian News blog) has attempted to put the image in some kind of context. She writes on her blog, On the Face, that she has done some research into the circumstances around the photograph being taken, calling people who were there.
Goldman says that the children were from Kiryat Shmona, which is right on the border with Lebanon and had been hit by Hizbullah rockets. The AP photographer who took the photograph does not want to speak publicly about it, but Goldman is given an account by a reporter who was there.
The reporter insists that nobody who was there spoke with hatred about the Lebanese.
Goldman is told the children had been scared by the rockets and had been cooped up in underground shelters for five days and were probably a bit giddy at being outside and at the interest from photographers. An Israeli unit was in the town and some 12 photographers were taking pictures, Goldman was told.
According to the account, some of the parents wrote messages to Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah and then they handed the markers to the children who started drawing Israeli flags on the shells. The photographers, looking for a powerful image, had found one.
Some bloggers have wondered if the media was culpable for perhaps coaxing the children into writing on the missiles, though Goldman's related account suggests it was the parents who invited the children to write messages
- from the url you quoted.

Hopefully they get a less bloodthirsty lesson in school...
Whoops! Sounds like a no...

sorry ur picture is slightly out of context:
a) can't see any Hamas people on your picture.
b) the group with the white-red flags belongs even to a lebanese christian group (lebanese forces) which has strong tensions with most of arab-muslim groups.
just be correct, so that people rely on your information.
Zoe,
perhaps you should have included the transcript of the TV show. It has one of the children talking about annihilating the Jews and the mouse talking about ruling the World. I don't think you will have any Israeli children's TV shows talking about annihilating the Arabs or ruling the World. Not even one's sponsored by major political parties.
Israeli children don't need them, they can just turn on the TV news or look out the window to see the Palestinians being annihilated.
"Deputy prime minister and Minister of Strategic Threats Avigdor Lieberman said Israel should ignore Abbas, wipe out the Hamas leadership and walk away from the U.S.-backed "road map" peace plan."
Wipe out the Hamas leadership...that is, wipe out the democratically elected government of Palestine. Obvioulsy Israel, as 'the only democracy in the Middle East' wants to retain its title, by force if neccesary. How democratic!
Well, being fair, Hamas have stated that they will keep on attacking until every Jew in the world is dead. Amd they do keep on launching Rockets during ceasefires. That makes negotiation difficult.
Still, given that the group wiping out Hamas at the moment is Fatah, how come they don't get a mention?
Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas canceled a planned visit to the Gaza Strip on Thursday for fear that Hamas militiamen might attack his convoy, PA officials here said.
“The Palestinian security forces have received information according to which Hamas was preparing some kind of an attack on President Abbas’s convoy,” the officials said. “The president has been advised not to travel to the Gaza Strip because of the warnings.”
No comment is necessary.
Oh, but further comment is neccesary...you can't profess to be the only democracy in the Middle East and then try to oust the democratically elected representatives of your subject population.
But anyway, I digress...let's look at how the US and Israel's fanatical determination to stifle any national liberation sentiment on behalf of the Palestinians led to the rise of Islamic fundamentalism...
"Israel and Hamas may currently be locked in deadly combat, but, according to several current and former U.S. intelligence officials, beginning in the late 1970s, Tel Aviv gave direct and indirect financial aid to Hamas over a period of years.
Israel "aided Hamas directly -- the Israelis wanted to use it as a counterbalance to the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization)," said Tony Cordesman, Middle East analyst for the Center for Strategic Studies.
Israel's support for Hamas "was a direct attempt to divide and dilute support for a strong, secular PLO by using a competing religious alternative," said a former senior CIA official."
